Police FC secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Gicumbi FC in a dramatic league match played Saturday evening at the Kigali Pelé Stadium. Despite conceding first, the law-enforcement side showed strong resilience and tactical discipline to overturn the result before the final whistle.
Gicumbi FC broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to take a 1–0 lead. The goal energized the visitors and momentarily put Police FC on the back foot as they struggled to settle into their rhythm.
However, Police FC responded with determination. Their pressure paid off in the 44th minute when they earned a penalty, confidently converted by Byiringiro Lague, bringing the game level at 1–1 just before halftime.
In the second half, Police FC increased intensity and controlled possession, creating several clear chances. The breakthrough finally arrived when Iradukunda Simeon found the back of the net, completing the comeback and giving Police FC a 2–1 lead that they managed to protect until full time.
